Honolulu City Councilmembers, Tom Berg and Tulsi Tamayo have extended an invitation to constituents to share their opinions on the current situation of the Waimanalo Gulch Landfill as well as the City and State’s handling of emergencies. Councilmember Berg serves City Council District 1 (Ewa-Makaha) while Councilmember Tamayo serves District 6 (Downtown Honolulu-Pauoa).
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 31st, 7:00PM at Kapolei Hale. The topics to be discussed range from the January landfill spill, to the recent power outages and strike by HECO workers. Councilmember Berg has requested that any concerned resident who is unable to attend, contact his office via email to share their concerns.
